Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of the Hisaabo cloud service ("Service") operated at app.hisaabo.in. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms.

The self-hosted, open-source version of Hisaabo is governed by the O'Saasy License, not these terms.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. Use a strong, unique password and do not share your login with others.

You must provide accurate information when creating an account. One person or entity may maintain multiple business profiles under a single account.

If you suspect unauthorised access to your account, contact us immediately at support@hisaabo.in.

Hisaabo is designed for legitimate business billing and accounting. You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or to process fraudulent transactions
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other users' data or our systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service's infrastructure
  • Use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or overload the Service
  • Resell or redistribute access to the Service without our written permission

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with notice where possible. In cases of serious abuse, we may act immediately.

Your data belongs to you. This is not just a marketing line -- it is a core principle of how Hisaabo operates.

  • All business data you enter (invoices, parties, items, payments, expenses) is and remains your property
  • You can export your data at any time in standard formats (CSV, JSON)
  • You can self-host using the open-source version and take your data with you
  • We will never sell, license, or share your business data with third parties
  • If you close your account, we will provide a data export and then delete your data within 30 days

We will never hold your data hostage. If you want to leave, your data leaves with you -- no export fees, no format lock-in, no delays.

We strive to keep the Service available 24/7, but we cannot guarantee 100% uptime. There may be occasional downtime for maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control.

We will provide reasonable advance notice for planned maintenance. Current service status is available at status.hisaabo.in.

For business-critical operations, we recommend maintaining regular data exports as a backup. The desktop application also works offline for continued access.

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Hisaabo shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or business opportunities.

Our total cumulative liability for any claims arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

The free tier of Hisaabo is free forever, with no hidden limits designed to force upgrades. Paid plans are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis.

If a payment fails, we will notify you and provide a grace period to update your payment method. We will not delete your data due to payment issues -- your data remains accessible and exportable even if your paid plan lapses.

You may close your account at any time from your account settings. Upon closure:

  • We will offer a final data export
  • Your data will be deleted from our servers within 30 days
  • Backups containing your data will be purged within 90 days

We may terminate your account if you materially breach these terms, with reasonable notice where possible. Even in case of termination, you will have the opportunity to export your data.

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you at least 30 days in advance via email or a notice in the application.

Continued use of the Service after the effective date of changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. If you disagree with any changes, you may close your account and export your data.

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Bengaluru, Karnataka.
